We Need Your Help Thursday 21 May

We’ve been overwhelmed by the amount of volunteers in Cork giving their time to this campaign. We need your help for one last push this Thursday 21 May – and the help of any of your friends that are free for two hours! We’ll be meeting at 8 North Mall (see below map) at the below times to coordinate one last push. (This does not involve canvassing.)

Cork Marriage Equality Meetings 16th April

There are two Public Marriage Equality meetings in Cork this evening, 16th April, both at 8pm:

Labour Party Public Meeting

Chaired by Minister Kathleen Lynch, speakers include: The Tánaiste Joan BurtonLaura Harmon, President of USIDr Conor O’Mahony, UCC School of LawValerie Mulcahy Cork Ladies Football, Minister Alex White TD and Joe Noonan, Chairperson Yes Equality Cork.

Yes Equality Cork Photography Exhibition – Quay Co-Op Café

Fundraising Photography exhibition at the Quay Co-op café

During the Yes Equality Cork campaign, portraits were taken of people who supported this cause in a social media campaign to increase awareness of the referendum and encourage equality. This colourful collection of different characters are bonded by a belief that all people are equal. All photographs are taken by Cork based photographer Marcin Lewandowski. who specialises in portraiture, editorial and documentary work. Please visit the show at the Quay Co-op, all prices on display and all proceeds to Yes Equality Cork

P.S: make sure you look around the shop as smaller photographs are dotted throughout!

Cobh Coffee and Conversation Morning – 20 May

Coffee and Conversation morning for Yes Equality East Cork in Gilbert’s Bistro In The Square in Cobh! Pop down for a tea/coffee, a chat and a good time. There will several volunteers around so if you’ve any concerns or questions it’s the perfect time to pop down and get them answered. Come on your own or bring your friends and family.

Midweek Mixer #2 presents Horse, Ealadha, Catacombs + Newnoise DJ Set! After a successful first outing, Midweek Mixer returns for a second round at Mr. Bradley’s on May 20th.  And for the week that’s in it, all the proceeds from this free/pay-what-you-want show will go toward Yes Equality Cork as the campaign faces down the final days before the Marriage Equality Referendum on May 22nd.

The Lightning Bug Storytelling Night – 18 May

This very special Lightning Bug event features readings and a Q&A with special guest actress, writer and comedian Tara Flynn as well as award winning Cork writers Danielle McLaughlin, Madeleine D’Arcy, Sara Baume and Billy O’Callaghan. We will also have music from Jack O’Rourke (who recently supported Sinead O’Connor and The Staves.) So all in all we have seven special guests lined up for what promises to be a great event!

Danny Zumba, Paula Telford and Teresa would like to welcome you with open arms to this Mega MC! 30 minutes of Zumba to warm you up, followed by 30 minutes of Zumba Santao to tone you up, and ended with another 30 minuets of Zumba to finish the night off! Yes Equality Cork are currently in need of funds to make a home run to their campaign of equality! Why not show your support? Much fun to be had for all!
